Trent Reznor Recalls How David Bowie Helped Him Get Sober

When I met David, he had been through that. And he was content. He was at peace with himself, with an incredible wife, clearly in love. There were a number of times where the two of us were alone, and he said some things that weren’t scolding, but pieces of wisdom that stuck with me: “You know, there is a better way here, and it doesn’t have to end in despair or in death, in the bottom.”

Jeff Tweedy on Wilco’s New Album “Star Wars”

Rolling Store has a great interview with Jeff Tweedy on Wilco’s latest album, Star Wars. For such an effortless, fun album, I’m surprised that that band wasn’t playing together live:

For the most part, I kind of built them all and had the guys come in, sometimes individually. There isn’t really one track on the record where everybody was there at the same time.

 

Santana-Fronted Supergroup

Carlos Santana is forming a jazz fusion supergroup called Supernova with his wife Cindy Blackman Santana, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and John McLaughlin. I really hope this comes to fruition — sounds quite promising!
