I can’t wait until later this summer when I get to see Taylor Swift in concert again! The show for this tour sounds like it is going to top 1989’s, which was quite excellent.
From Rolling Stone:
When I met David, he had been through that. And he was content. He was at peace with himself, with an incredible wife, clearly in love. There were a number of times where the two of us were alone, and he said some things that weren’t scolding, but pieces of wisdom that stuck with me: “You know, there is a better way here, and it doesn’t have to end in despair or in death, in the bottom.”
I would have loved to see this live!
Rolling Store has a great interview with Jeff Tweedy on Wilco’s latest album, Star Wars. For such an effortless, fun album, I’m surprised that that band wasn’t playing together live:
For the most part, I kind of built them all and had the guys come in, sometimes individually. There isn’t really one track on the record where everybody was there at the same time.
Update: Original link was removed. Found a similar video on another site.
Drop what you are doing and spend 13 1/2 minutes watching this video of Prince’s 1st live performance of “Purple Rain”, which was then edited and overdubbed for the album version. Truly incredible.
Carlos Santana is forming a jazz fusion supergroup called Supernova with his wife Cindy Blackman Santana, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and John McLaughlin. I really hope this comes to fruition — sounds quite promising!
